My name is Zachary Christopher Hong-Ern Newkirk (Hong-Ern is Chinese for "abounding grace and favor") and I was born on July 8th, 2008 at 5:53pm. I am a very healthy boy--I weighed 7lbs, 8oz, and I am 19 inches long. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me.
Mommy is doing very well, too. She was in labor for 12 hours and pushed me out for 2.5 hours with NO EPIDURAL! My mommy is very strong!
We are all resting well at home, but I think Mommy and Daddy wish I would sleep at night. They say that I am nocturnal. Like my daddy.
Thank you for praying for me and my mommy and daddy. They will try to update the site as much as they can.

Yay, pictures! He is SUCH a beautiful baby. Congratulations to you both! I'm so impressed by Alicia not needing an epidural. Chris, I love the picture of you holding him. I can't wait to see you guys in September and meet your new son!
Congrats, again! And congrats to Alicia for going the natural route--that's what I've done with all three of our's and I wouldn't have it any other way.
He's adorable! I'm glad all's well. Enjoy the next few weeks because they go by FAR too quickly! :)
