First Day With a Pacifier!

This is how I roll with my new pacifier. Mommy and Daddy kept saying they were going to throw me out the window if I didn't be quiet. I think I'm safe now, though, because I really like my pacifier! Sometimes when I don't have anything to do, I get kinda bored and fussy. But now, since I have my pacifier, I have something to do.


This is my new look. I think the little chicks will like it. It's called "Blue Snooze". Every time I practice Blue Snooze, Mommy and Daddy call me "ZZ" for Zachary Zoolander. I like that name. I like animals. Oh, and also, I'm starting to sleep a tiny-tiny-tiny bit better. Mommy and Daddy finally decided to let me sleep with them. I don't think I ever want to sleep anywhere else! Pretty soon I can start my own school. I will call it the Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Sleep Good.


Nobody believed that I have eyeballs. Here they are. I didn't know I had them until I scratched them.

Good Sleeper

I'm a good sleeper. During the day. Then when nighttime comes, I am awake and I irritate mommy and daddy and grandma. Last night, I was awake from 1 to 4, and if mommy or grandma went away, I started screaming. I think I'm on Malaysia time.

My first few days of life...

My name is Zachary Christopher Hong-Ern Newkirk (Hong-Ern is Chinese for "abounding grace and favor") and I was born on July 8th, 2008 at 5:53pm. I am a very healthy boy--I weighed 7lbs, 8oz, and I am 19 inches long. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me.

Mommy is doing very well, too. She was in labor for 12 hours and pushed me out for 2.5 hours with NO EPIDURAL! My mommy is very strong!

We are all resting well at home, but I think Mommy and Daddy wish I would sleep at night. They say that I am nocturnal. Like my daddy.
